OLEAN – A City of Olean man is facing charges after allegedly receiving nearly $10,000 in unemployment benefits he was not entitled to.
New York State Police said Mark E. Barber, 50, is charged with third-degree grand larceny and first degree filing a false instrument.
Troopers said following an investigation that started in April, they discovered Barber filed false paperwork with the New York State Department of Labor and he allegedly obtained $9,226.25 of unemployment benefits to which he was not entitled.
