CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY – Be careful if you’re headed to lakes in Chautauqua County Friday, as weather experts predict rough swimming conditions.

National Weather Service issued a Beach Hazards Statement Friday morning. This means life threatening waves and currents are expected in large bodies of water around the county; specifically Lake Erie and Chautauqua Lake.

Officials said to stay out of the water and stay away from dangerous areas like piers and breakwalls.

The beach hazards statement is set to expire Friday evening.
