City Of Jamestown Announces 2019 Summer Playground Program Details

JAMESTOWN – The Jamestown Parks, Recreation, and Conservation Department announced details of their Summer Playground Program this week.

Geared for children between five and 13-years-old, the city’s playground program is free of charge and located at Allen Park, Bergman Park, Chadakoin Park, Lillian Dickson Tot Lot, and Nordstrom Park. The staff consists of eleven college-aged Jamestown residents.

Youth must register the first time they attend their playground site; then they are free to come and go as they wish.


City officials said this year’s program will includes a free lunch provided by the Jamestown YMCA in conjunction with St. Susan’s Center at each site.

Lunch is served between noon and one at all five sites. Children need to sign up each day in order to receive lunch for the following day. The meals will be available to children ages 18 and under.

The program runs from Monday, July 1 thru Friday, August 9. All sites are open from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.



The summer playground program is made possible through support from the City of Jamestown, Chautauqua County Youth Bureau, Chautauqua Region Community Foundation, and New York State Office of Children and Family Services.
