State Police Crackdown On Underage Drinking

CATTARAUGUS COUNTY – Several employees of various business in Cattaraugus County are facing charges following a underage drinking crackdown by the New York State Police this month.

Troopers said a total of 11 businesses were checked, four of them found to have allegedly violated the law.

Thomas A. Matsuyama, 22, Delevan, an employee of Crosby’s, 7 Main St Delevan, Barbara A. Cook, 50, Arcade, an employee of Shelly’s Roadside Bar and Grill, 10924 Route 16 Delevan, Donald J. Knight, 67, Arcade, an employee of The King’s Inn, 9982 State Route 16 Machias, and Alfred J. Pawlikowski, 44, Colden, an employee of Finnerty’s Tap Room, 5 E Washington St Ellicotvill, were all issued an appearance ticket for all allegedly violating New York’s Alcoholic Beverage Control Law by selling to a person under the age of 21.


Troopers said Weber City Deli, 1639 Route 16 Yorkshire, the 7-Eleven, 3261 Route 16 Chaffee, the Rite Aid, 12208 Route 16 Yorkshire, the Dollar General, Route 16 Machias, Lake House Bar and Grill, 3198 Elton Rd Delevan, Lils Deli, 9682 Route 16 Machias, and Red Apple, 1 E. Washington St Ellicotville, all complied with the law.

The four charged are scheduled to appear in various courts at a later date.
