NYSP Trooper Involved In Crash

ELLICOTT – An unmarked New York State Trooper vehicle was struck by a car while attempting to pull over a speeding vehicle Tuesday.

Police say the trooper, assigned to a distracted driver detail, clocked a speeding driver traveling 71 in a 55 mph zone.

The trooper activated his emergency lighting and started to perform a u-turn when he was struck in the driver’s side rear door and quarter panel.











Police said no one was injured in the crash.

Fluvanna and Gerry Fire Departments have responded.
