Busti Duo Charged Following Discovery Of “Large-Scale” Marijuana Grow Operation


BUSTI – Two Busti residents were charged Monday after the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office said they, along with the Lakewood-Busti Police Department, allegedly discovered a “large-scale” illegal marijuana operation at 161 Bigtree Rd. 

Thomas D. Maher, 36, and Barbara L. Lobb, 30, both of the above address, were arrested following an investigation into the illegal growing, production, distribution and sale of marijuana.


Maher and Lobb were both charged with unlawfully growing cannabis without a license, second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. They were committed to Chautauqua County Jail pending arraignment.

Deputies said more charges are pending.
