JAMESTOWN – The YWCA of Jamestown, in collaboration with the Hispanic Community Council, will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month during their first annual “Latin@ Festival” this week.

Center officials say the event will include food, poetry, a DJ, salsa lessons, as well as a dance performance, and singing.

The free event will take place Friday, October 11 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the YWCA Jamestown building.

The event is hosted in part by the center’s Social Justice Committee that works to advocate for women, children, and families by educating others to understand the importance of racial and gender equality.
