JAMESTOWN – An event aimed at empowering girls will take place Saturday at the Willow Bay Theatre in Downtown Jamestown.

Officials with Conduit Ministries say ‘Brave’ is part of a global organization whose mission is to empower girls and prevent exploitation.

The event hopes to gather 400 girls between the ages of 11-18 and their caregivers for a day full of food, creative arts, live music, dance, comedy, and an inspiring keynote message by author and speaker Ashley Abercrombie.

Abercrombie will tell stories of women and girls who have overcome significant hurdles in their lives.

‘Brave’ is a collaboration between Conduit Ministries, the Chautauqua County Department of Health and Human Services, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and several other groups.

The event will take place Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information visit braveglobal.org.
