
JAMESTOWN – A City of Jamestown man is facing several charges after Jamestown Police said he attempted to flee and fought with officers who were trying to arrest him on an outstanding warrant Thursday evening at the UCAN City Mission.
Police said Jorge R. Garay, 34, is charged with second-degree assault, second-degree obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest.
Officers said they were assisting New York State Parole in the arrest of Garay when he attempted to flee the building.
Police said Garay was apprehended a short time later and taken into custody after allegedly attempting to fight with them.
Garay was taken to Jamestown City Jail pending arraignment in the case.
