WESTFIELD – A Village of Silver Creek man was arrested after the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office alleged he engaged in sexual acts with a juvenile victim in June.
Derek Smith, 33, is charged with second-degree sexual abuse.
Deputies said the arrest stems from an investigation conducted by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division into a reported suspicious situation.
Investigators say that Smith allegedly engaged in the acts at an unknown time on June 6, 2019.
Deputies said on Monday, Smith was arraigned in the Town of Westfield Court.
No details of the alleged incident were released.
