MAYVILLE – If people think their vote doesn’t count, ask Dunkirk’s incumbent Mayor Willie Rosas.

Rosas, a democrat, fought off a spirited challenge from Shaun Heenan.

In total, there were 123 absentee ballots. Rosas had 1660 votes, Heenan had 1601 vote.

The 59 vote margin compared to the 48 vote advantage Rosas had on election night.

The results are expected to be certified later this week.
