JAMESTOWN – Jamestown’s new mayor says he wants to increase transparency within city government.

Mayor-elect Eddie Sundquist (D), in an interview with WNYNewsNow last week, said by making sure the city calendar is updated and data is available to everyone, he hopes to keep citizens informed.

“So, if you wanted to know about how many requests that we got under FOIL or how many houses we have on the list to be condemned we want that data to be available to our residents and to our organizations that are working in that space,” explained Sundquist.

Additionally, Sundquist said he hopes to one day livestream city council sessions and work meetings so that residents can be part of the conversation from anywhere.

He also wants to change the time many of the committees meet so that the meets will be more accessible.
