SHERIDAN – A Village of Silver Creek man was charged for allegedly driving while under the influence of drugs following a head-on crash on Route 5 Wednesday.

New York State Police say Kevin Schunk, 28, was arrested for DWAI drugs pending lab results.

Furthermore, Schunk was allegedly driving with suspended registration for having no insurance on his vehicle.

Troopers said Schunk was transported to Brooks Memorial Hospital.

The driver of the other vehicle was taken to Lake Shore Hospital for chest pains.
