Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office Pilots Plead Guilty In Theft Case

UPDATE: Chautauqua County’s District Attorney says both Chamberlain and Ventra were arrested and arraigned on petit larceny charges, they entered pleas of not guilty, and the cases have currently been adjourned in contemplation of full dismissal. Full restitution has been made by Jacob Ventura for the missing items.

JAMESTOWN – Two Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office pilots have pled guilty after investigators say they stole items from the Starflight helicopter hanger in Jamestown.

Jacob Ventura, 34, of Chaffee, NY, and Mark Chamberlain, 60, of Hamburg, NY, were charged with petit larceny.











Investigators say an internal investigation was launched on July 9th into the crimes.

After the investigation was completed, the Jamestown Police Department assisted by charging the pilots.

Both appeared with their attorneys on different days for processing.









Deputies say they pled guilty to the charge in Jamestown City Court and were given conditional discharges.

Ventura’s discharge will last twelve months, and Chamberlains will last six.
