After A Warm Stretch, Snow And Cold Return

JAMESTOWN – The warmer period of weather the region has experienced as of late, will begin to change back to winter over the next few days. Another warming trend will return by late week, as the roller coaster of weather continues into the New Year. 

For today, it will be mostly cloudy with on and off rain showers throughout the afternoon. It will be a bit breezy with temperatures falling into the 40’s by late afternoon. Tonight early rain showers will mix with snow showers late. Temperatures dropping back into the lower 30’s.











The final day of 2019 will see a return to winter weather. Snow showers around the region with temperatures in the low to mid 30’s. Some minor snow fall accumulation is likely.

A band of lake effect snow will set up Tuesday night into New Years day, which will provide for some accumulations in the snow belt areas and across the Chautauqua Ridge. Moderate accumulation is possible, which may lead to an advisory posting by the National Weather Service. New years day will see snow showers with temperatures in the lower 30’s.









Another slight warming trend will take place by late week. Temperatures both Thursday and Friday will rise into the mid 40’s for the start of the New Year.
