Kennedy Man Charged After Allegedly Kicking Chihuahua During Dispute

POLAND – A Kennedy man is facing animal abuse charges after New York State Police allege he kicked a chihuahua during a domestic dispute.

Troopers say Joshua Ross, 31, arrived at a residence without invitation, walked into the victim’s home and refused to leave.

During an argument, troopers say Ross kicked the woman’s chihuahua.

Additionally, when the woman attempted to call 911 for help, Ross allegedly knocked the phone from her hand and across the room.

Police say they were eventually contacted by a third party. While attempting to arrest Ross, troopers say he physically resisted, but was eventually taken into custody.

Ross is charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief, second-degree criminal trespass, resisting arrest and overdriving/torturing/injuring animals.

Police say Ross was processed and transported to the Chautauqua County Jail, pending arraignment.
