Lake Effect Snow, Gusty Winds To Impact Chautauqua, Cattaraugus Counties

JAMESTOWN – Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility on the roads Thursday as Lake Effect Snow returns to Chautauqua and Cattaraugus Counties.

The National Weather Service in Buffalo says a total of 3 to 7 inches of accumulation is expected in the most persistent snow bands.

The greatest amount snow accumulations is likely across higher terrain like the Chautauqua Ridge.





Winds gusting up to 40 m.p.h. are also expected to produce blowing and drifting snow until around 6 p.m.

Officials are asking drivers to slow down and use caution while on the roads.
