JAMESTOWN – Jamestown Police say they have found the vehicle believed to be involved in a Saturday night drive-by shooting on Hazzard Street.

Detectives say officers on patrol located the suspect vehicle parked behind a condemned home on Broadhead Avenue earlier this week. Since then, police say they have searched the vehicle for evidence.

Investigators believe an altercation between the suspect and man shot likely occurred prior to the shooting.

Police found a male victim laying in the street next to his vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds just before 10:45 p.m. Saturday. They believe the man was traveling in his car when a dark colored sedan pulled up and fired multiple shots into his car before fleeing the scene.

The victim’s vehicle then reportedly struck a parked car on Hazzard Street. Police say they recovered a loaded pistol inside the victim’s vehicle. Officer believe the weapon belonged to him.

The man was taken to UPMC Chautauqua Hospital before he was transferred to UPMC Hamot.
