ALBANY – Two Chautauqua County mayors are in Albany this week lobbing for more state funding for local roadways.

Jamestown Mayor Eddie Sundquist and Dunkirk Mayor Willie Rosas met with Assemblyman Andrew Goodell, State Senator George Borrello and State Senator Tim Kennedy.

Sundquist says since 1987 the state has provided the same level of funding to assist cities with roadwork, and the Mayor believes state officials should do more to help local municipalities like Jamestown.

The mayors are in the state’s capital attending a New York State Conference of Mayors’ meeting.
