Jamestown BPU Warns Customers Of New Phone Scam

JAMESTOWN – The Jamestown Board of Public Utilities is warning its customers about a new phone scam where a caller is trying to refund overages charged to the customer’s account.

Officials say the scammer asks customers for their bank account numbers and other personal financial information.

They are warning the public that the BPU is not making such calls and customers receiving them should hang up on the caller.
