JAMESTOWN – A local business leader in Jamestown is working to help shops to prepare for phase two reopening.

In an interview with WNYNewsNow on Friday, Todd Tranum, the CEO of the Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce, says that the NY Forward online dashboard now includes updated guidance for all businesses that will be reopening under phase two.

He is reminding business owner that they must read and affirm documents by completing the online form at the end of the detailed guidance section for their sector.

Phase two will include:

  • Offices
  • Real Estate
  • Essential and Phase II In-Store Retail
  • Vehicle Sales, Leases & Rentals
  • Retail Rental, Repair & Cleaning
  • Commercial Building Management
  • Hair Salons and Barber Shops

A firm date for phase two reopening in Western New York has not been announced, although, leaders remain optimistic that it will arrive by Tuesday.

The most recent update indicates that the state will review a full two weeks of data after each phase before moving into the next phase. They anticipate that review will be early next week and hope to hear the phase two opening date soon after.

We really need to be careful about reopening this part of new York state . There are a lot of older people who are not in the best of health and a resurgence will only mean that it will be a longer time for all to locked down for an extended time.
