
MAYVILLE – Twenty-eight new COVID-19 cases and 69 recoveries were reported over the Labor Day Holiday weekend in Chautauqua County.
The Chautauqua County Health Department says there are now 114 cases active, with the majority of the new cases reported in the northern section of the county.
Furthermore, health officials say 18 of the new cases are SUNY Fredonia students and two are related to an outbreak at Fieldbrook Foods in Dunkirk.
County health leaders also released the following:
- 513 cases under quarantine/isolation orders by the Public Health Director and being monitored. Not all of those being monitored are confirmed to have COVID-19 but have either shown symptoms, are awaiting results, or have risk factors;
- 241 persons under domestic traveler quarantine for having arrived to Chautauqua County from a state listed on the New York State travel advisory;
- 2 persons hospitalized in Chautauqua County as of Sunday;
Since the outbreak began, there have been a total of 522 COVID-19 cases in the county, with 398 recovered, 10 deaths and nearly 37,000 negative test results.
