JAMESTOWN – The warm and dry weather is gone for now as surges of fall-time air are pooling into the region with scattered showers from time to time throughout this week.

We’ve been on the receiving end of showers and cooler air that has been associated with the passage of a cold front which occurred last night. A secondary front lurking back to our west will bring in even cooler air and more showers for the later part of the week.

Scattered to widespread showers will take us through the night tonight with the potential for some rumbles after midnight. Cooler. Lows 45 in the valleys, 54 at the Lake Erie shoreline.

Scattered on and off showers will continue into Wednesday with limited pockets of dry time. The wind will come up off the eastern end of Lake Erie tomorrow producing gusts up to 35 MPH at times. Chilly. Highs 56 to 64.

As we start October on Thursday, Mother Nature will be kicking it off like the season we are in. Scattered showers and highs in the mid 50’s.

As another push of even cooler Canadian air drops down into the Northeast from a deepening trough, highs will struggle to stay in the lower 50’s both Friday and Saturday with widespread showers likely through Friday evening.

We will start to trend a little bit drier come Sunday and Monday of next week with highs remanding in the mid to upper 50’s.
