JAMESTOWN – Get ready to honor those who have served their country: Wednesday is Veteran’s Day.
The observance is on the anniversary of the end of World War I, which happened at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month in 1918.
It was originally called Armistice Day but was broadened to Veteran’s day in 1954.
You can mark the day by attending a Veteran’s Day event, either virtually or in person, and personally thanking a veteran for their service.
There are an estimated 19.5 million veterans in the U.S.
You can post to social media using the hashtag “Veteran’s Day” to show your appreciation.
