Tops Markets Merging With The Price Chopper, Market 32 Supermarket Chain

JAMESTOWN – Tops Markets stores will soon have a new owner.

Officials with Schenectady-based supermarket chain The Price Chopper and Market 32 announced the business is merging with Tops Markets on Monday.











Both will continue to be managed locally by their respective leaders.

The merger effectively doubles the collective footprint of the chains in the Northeast.

The two combined employ more than 30,000 people.









Tops Market Chairman and CEO Frank Curci will also serve on the Board of Directors of the new patent company as a consultant to assist the transaction.

Tops operates several locations around western New York, including two in Jamestown, one in Falconer, Frewsburg, Randolph, Dunkirk-Fredonia, Westfield, Mayville and Silver Creek.
