ALBANY – New York State has reached yet another milestone in the fight against COVID-19.

According to the State Health Department, 70 percent of eligible New Yorkers have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Locally, more than 62,000 people in Chautauqua County have received at least one dose of the vaccine.

According to the state’s vaccine tracker, that’s nearly 50 percent of the county’s total population.

However, some areas, like Cattaraugus County for example, still lag behind the state.

In Cattaraugus County 32,000 people have received at least one dose of the shot, making up just 42 percent of the county’s total population.
