SYRACUSE (WENY) – The New York State fair is making a come back this year after being canceled last year due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

However, it is looking different this year due to lasting effects from the health crisis. Masks are required to be worn indoors at the state fair.

This mandate is put into effect for everyone over the age of 2, regardless of vaccination status. The announcement came down Tuesday.

The fair takes place over 18 days in Syracuse. It kicks off August 20th and wraps up September 6th.

Restrictions and mandates are being put back into effect as coronavirus cases have gone up over the last month.

In fact, there has been a 110% increase in new cases in just the last 2 weeks alone. The fair will still be held at 100% capacity.
