Sherman Man Jailed Following Two Domestic Disputes Over The Weekend

SHERMAN – A 24-year-old Sherman man is behind bars after police allege he was involved in not one, but two, domestic disputes in two days times over the weekend.

New York State Police arrested 24-year-old Jemini Merzweiler.

They allege that Merzweiler was involved in an argument Friday with a woman who had a stay-away order against him. During that dispute, Merzweiler allegedly pushed her to the ground and hit her face.

When the victim attempted to call 911, Merzweiler allegedly took and hid her phone.

Troopers were then called to the same Sherman residence on Saturday, where it is alleged Merzweiler once again violated the court order.

He was eventually arrested and charged with second-degree criminal contempt, second-degree harassment and fourth-degree criminal mischief. Merzweiler was held at the Chautauqua County Jail.
