JAMESTOWN – Gas prices continue to climb across the nation, in New York, and the Jamestown area.

AAA reported Monday the national average $3.40 per gallon; up one cent from last week’s average of $3.39. In New York state, the price is up two cents to $3.55.

As of today, Jamestown gas prices are at $3.59 a gallon, up four cents from last week’s $3.55.

According to GasBuddy.com, gasoline costs continue to increase across the board, but the site also shows the high and lows of all the area’s gas stations.

Gas prices continue to rise because the high demand for oil has increased prices across the board.
