CELORON – A Village of Celoron native and flight attendant killed when her hijacked plane crashed on September 11, 2001 was honored in a special way over the weekend during a memorial 5k run.

The annual event was extra special this year with participants running alongside “Paulie” Veneto a fellow flight attendant who worked alongside Amy King.

Veneto is nationally known for his efforts honoring the crew members lost during the terrorist attacks 20-years-ago.

Amy King’s sister Debbie is grateful for the community coming together each and every year.

“Year after year it has become a family tradition for people and the community, I can’t really put it into words what it means to us,” she explained.

His beverage cart was a feature of the walk, with Vento pushing the cart from Boston to Ground Zero in New York City, and now, in Celoron.
