JAMESTOWN – A 19-year-old Jamestown man is accused of assaulting a woman while holding a five-month-old baby.
City of Jamestown Police responded to the alleged crime at a south side address around 8 p.m. on Monday night.
Following an investigation, it is alleged the man, who was not identified, slammed the woman to the floor, placed his hands over her mouth and his arms across her throat; making it difficult for her to breath.
The man then allegedly took her cell phone to stop her from calling 911. He also, police say, began loading a shotgun and threatened to shoot anyone who entered the house.
He was later arrested and charged with third-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child, among several other crimes.
