WATTSBURG, Pa. (Erie News Now) – Three people are undergoing treatment for burns after an explosion at Lowbucs Propane near Wattsburg on Monday.

It was first reported as a fire at the business, which is located at 12560 Rt. 8 in Venango Township, Erie County, at 9:18 a.m.

The explosion happened at a propane filling station, according to reports from the scene.

An ambulance took the victims to the nearby Erie County Airport. They were then flown by medical helicopter for treatment.

Two were taken to Buffalo, and the other was taken to Pittsburgh. We’re told they are in critical but stable condition.

The incident closed Route 8 near the business. It reopened around noon.
