One Shot On Jamestown’s Southside Tuesday Night

JAMESTOWN – One person was taken to the hospital following a shooting on Jamestown’s southside. 


Police were called to a possible home invasion at 3 North Cowden Place around 8 p.m. on Tuesday.

Jamestown Police tell WNY News Now a man was shot in the back during the suspected robbery.

He taken to UPMC Chautauqua Hospital and later airlifted to UPMC Hamot in Erie for treatment.



Police secured the dead-end street, which was closed late into the night as the forensics unit inspected the scene.

Around 8:30 p.m. officers were looking for a silver two door vehicle that might be involved.

Detectives suspect two men fled in the sedan moments following the shooting.

JAMESTOWN – One person was taken to the hospital following a shooting on Jamestown’s southside. 

Police were called to a possible home invasion call on Cowden Place around 8 p.m. on Tuesday.

Jamestown Police tell WNY News Now one person was shot. They have since been taken to UPMC Chautauqua Hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries was not immediately known.

Police currently have the dead-end alleyway closed as they begin their investigation.

Around 8:30 p.m. officers were looking for a silver two door vehicle that might be involved.

The forensics unit is also responding to inspect the scene.
