MAYVILLE – As the Coronavirus pandemic enters what officials are calling its “endemic” phase, officials tout the abundance of testing as a way to live with the virus. This weekend, there are several options to get at-home testing kits for free.

The Chautauqua County Health Department and Office of Emergency Services is hosting a drive-thru event to distribute free COVID-19 rapid at-home test kits on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the parking lot of the Office of Emergency Services building at 2 Academy Street in Mayville.

Those who can’t make it to the in-person event, can order kits for free online at CHQgov.com. Every household in the nation is eligible to order four free testing kits.

If you need a test, but don’t want to do an at-home test, Quadrant Biosciences is offering free COVID-19 PCR testing in Jamestown at the South County Office Building and in Fredonia at SUNY Fredonia each week. Registration is also posted online at the county’s website.
