Slick Roads Impacting Friday’s Commute

JAMESTOWN – Icy roads caused some travel troubles for those traveling on Friday morning in our region.

Mixed precipitation provided for a slow go in many parts of Western New York and Northwestern Pennsylvania.

Early in the morning even major thoroughfares like Route 62 between Jamestown and Warren, Pa. and Route 60 between Jamestown and Dunkirk were even covered with slushy ice.

Side streets, including brick roads in Jamestown, were also impacted with a layer of ice drizzled about.

The freezing rain is expected to continue throughout the day Friday causing slippery road conditions.

The rain is expected to turn to snow after noon.
