MAYVILLE – An Angola man imprisoned following an alleged burglary last week, is facing additional charges after allegedly destroying jail property for the second-time in less than a week.
The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office reports 30-year-old Matthew Kennedy ripped apart a jail issued mattress at the seams on Monday evening.
Corrections officers, deputies report, ordered Kennedy to stop, in which he refused to comply.
This is not the first time Kennedy faced additional charges, following an alleged burglary of a Villenova home.
Last Friday, deputies reported the man intentionally damaged and activated a fire sprinkler head within his jail cell. He now faces two criminal mischief charges, connected to both alleged incidents.
