MAYVILLE – The unemployment rate in Chautauqua County has increased for the first time in several months.
According to preliminary statistics released by the New York State Department of Labor, the jobless rate in June increased three-tenths of a percent from the month before to 3.7 percent.
Of that, 1,100 people are considered to be “unemployed,” with 52,000 people employed countywide, which officials said is more than a year ago.
