MAYVILLE, NY (WNY News Now) – A mistrial has been declared in the case prosecuting a Jamestown man arrested during a winter drug raid in the Jamestown and Falconer areas last year.

John Anzalone was arrested back in January 2021 in connection with “Operation Crazy Ivan,” which targeted powder cocaine trafficking locally.

Judge David Foley declared the mistrial due to the disclosure of material during and after jury selection.

Prosecutors said a previously issued suppression of evidence order, which compiled challenges.

While a new trial date has not yet been set, Chautauqua County’s District Attorney says he plans to review the mistrial order and is committed to re-lodging charges.
