Times Square NYE Ball Gets New Crystals

NEW YORK, NY (WNY News Now) — Times Square’s iconic crystal ball is all ready for this weekend’s big night. 

The final Waterford crystal triangles were installed onto the ball on Tuesday. 

About 200 of the more than 2,000 triangles on the ball were replaced this year. 


The 192 new crystals representing the 2022 theme of the “gift of love.” 

For the first time since the beginning of the pandemic there will be no restrictions for the Times square festivities.
