JAMESTOWN, NY (WNY News Now) – The Babe Ruth World Series is returning to the City of Jamestown this summer.
The event’s planning committee announced the news on Thursday. This will be the nineteenth World Series held in Jamestown between 1980 and 2023.
On Thursday, August 10 the eight Regional Champions from across the United States will travel to Diethrick Park to play ball.
Kids ranging in age from 13 to 15-year-old will face off in the tournament until a champion is crowned the following Saturday.
Ahead of competition, businesses, organizations and clubs are asked to purchase a buyout of the stadium where they are offered a half page ad in the souvenir booklet, the opportunity to throw out a first pitch and have a vocalist/musician perform the National Anthem.
