Man Wanted By Police In South Dakota Arrested In Jamestown

JAMESTOWN, NY (WNY News Now) – A man wanted for fleeing law enforcement in South Dakota was arrested in Jamestown on Wednesday.

Officers with Jamestown Police made contact with John Arnott during a traffic stop in the area of North Main Street and West 13th Street.

The 39-year-old North Carolina resident allegedly had an obscured license plate on his vehicle, along with an expired temporary registration.


During a check of his record, it was found that Arnott was wanted out of South Dakota as a parole absconder for charges of possession and distribution of controlled substances, as well as burglary.

Arnott was held at Jamestown City’s Jail as a fugitive from justice. He also faces several traffic citations.
