Patient Allegedly Fights With Staff At Jamestown Emergency Room

JAMESTOWN, NY (WNY News Now) – A patient at UPMC Chautauqua Hospital is facing criminal charges after he allegedly fought with staff Friday.

Just before 10 a.m. Jamestown Police were called to UPMC Chautauqua Hospital for a disorderly male.

It was reported that the male, identified as 44 year old Jamestown resident, Jeremy M. Ramsey, had been discharged from the hospital and was refusing to leave.


Ramsey, police say, became disorderly and started damaging property in the ER, along with fighting with Security.

Ramsey allegedly used a pen to try and stab one of the staff members.

Hospital security staff was able to restrain Ramsey until police arrived where he was placed into custody and transported to Jamestown City Jail.



Ramsey is held pending arraignment on Criminal Mischief 3rd and Menacing 2nd.
