POMFRET, NY (WNY News Now) – A 65-year-old man died Saturday during a tractor accident in northern Chautauqua County.
Around 3 p.m. first responders were dispatched to Lamberton Road in the Town of Pomfret for the reported tractor rollover.
An investigation by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office found that Andrew Lawrence was attempting to pull out a tractor stuck in the mud using a second tractor when the tractor Lawrence was operating rolled over backwards.
Deputies say Lawrence was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Fredonia Fire Department and Chautauqua County Tech Rescue.
