MAYVILLE, NY (WNY News Now) – A Jamestown resident accused of assaulting an inmate at the county jail while incarcerated has been sentenced in connection with the crime.

The Chautauqua County District Attorney’s Office says Scott Eddy was sentenced in connection with the attempted assault on Monday.

The 23-year-old will serve up to four years in state prison as part of an indeterminate term handed down by County Court Judge David Foley.

The jail attack took place back in November 2022 while Eddy was confined in the jail on an unrelated crime.
