JAMESTOWN, NY (WNY News Now) – A forum for the public to learn more about this year’s board of education candidates in Jamestown will take place next week.
On Thursday, May 11 at 6 p.m. in the Board Room at Jamestown Public School’s Administration Building on Martin Road, the four candidates on the ballot for three school board seats will discusses their priorities.
Hosted by the district’s parent teacher organization, those with questions ahead of the event are asked to email moderators Joanne Dean at deans@stny.rr.com, or Melissa Rhodes, at msrhodes1984@gmail.com.
On the ballot, they are: Paul Abbott, Christine Schnars, John Panebianco, and Melissa Paterniti.
Abbott and Schnars are incumbents on the board, with Abbott serving as board present. Panebianco and Paterniti are both newcomers vying for voter support.
The Annual School Budget Vote and Board of Education Election will be held on Tuesday, May 16.
Polls are open from noon to 9 p.m. and registered voters can cast their ballot at Lincoln Elementary School, Jefferson Middle School or Washington Middle School.
