JAMESTOWN, NY (WNY News Now) – Veterans can now file supplemental claims online, a new option for Veterans who disagree with a previously denied disability compensation or pension benefits claim.

In an effort of modernization from the VA, the new experience is aimed to deliver timely and accurate notifications to Veterans regarding their claim decisions.

New features include, time saving tools with step by step, interview-style questions, quick and secure uploads, and a saving feature so Veterans can pick up where they left off.

Veterans can also use their smart devices to access the website from anywhere.

A Veteran may submit a claim if they feel like they have new and relevant evidence related to the original denial.

Supplemental claims can also be made if new legislation could impact the decision.

While this new system may be an improvement to some, the traditional mailed claims are still an option.

To file a supplemental claim online, visit the File a Supplemental Claim webpage on VA.gov and complete the form.
