Silver Creek, NY (WNY News Now) – Deputies from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a hit-and-run incident on Central Avenue in Silver Creek, eventually locating the suspect’s vehicle at a local school parking lot with the driver still inside.
On August 12th, 2023, authorities from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office responded to a complaint regarding a hit-and-run incident along Central Avenue in Silver Creek.
The individual behind the wheel was identified as Broderick Vanaernam, a 33-year-old resident of Irving. Upon questioning Vanaernam admitted his involvement in the incident. However, upon further investigation, it was revealed that Vanaernam had been operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
Broderick Vanaernam was placed under arrest and charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI). Vanaernam was taken to the Hanover Substation for processing. Later, he was released with instructions to appear before the Town of Hanover Court on a future date.
