(WNY News Now) – A woman was apprehended by Jamestown Police Officers for providing a false identity and resisting arrest. Subsequent investigations revealed her possession of a controlled substance, leading to multiple charges.
Jamestown – On August 23, 2023, at approximately 7:29 a.m., officers on patrol near the Big Lots parking lot observed a female exhibiting suspicious behavior. Approaching her, the officers were provided with a misleading identity, which was later confirmed to be a false name attributed to Camille I. Lopez. Authorities soon uncovered that Lopez was wanted by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, prompting their attempt to detain her.
Resisting arrest, Lopez was ultimately taken into custody without any further complications and transported to the Jamestown City Jail. A subsequent search conducted at the jail unveiled her possession of Amphetamine, classified as a controlled substance.
Consequently, Lopez faces charges encompassing Criminal Impersonation, Resisting Arrest, as well as Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree. The arrest also served to execute the pre-existing bench warrant issued by the Sheriff’s Office.
Lopez is being held pending arraignment.
