(WNY News Now) – A 23-year-old Buffalo resident was arraigned for charges including Attempted Murder, First Degree Assault, and Gang Assault following a violent incident on August 20, 2023.

Buffalo – Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn has announced the arraignment of 23-year-old Amonti K. Atkins from Buffalo, who stands accused of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, Assault in the First Degree, and Gang Assault in the First Degree.

The incident, alleged to have occurred on August 20, 2023, involved Atkins acting in concert with co-defendants Amari K. Atkins, 27, and Demetrius F. Gore, 52. The victim, a 41-year-old male, sustained serious injuries from the stabbing, kicking, and punching.

Arraigned earlier this week, all three defendants, including Atkins, were held without bail and are due for a felony hearing on August 30, 2023. Conviction of the highest count carries a potential 25-year prison sentence.
