(WNY News Now) – Last Saturday, the Lakewood American Legion hosted a benefit event for Don Johnson, a local resident facing the challenges of an inoperable brain tumor.
Lakewood – The Lakewood community came together with an impressive show of solidarity, as the event’s attendance spilled onto the streets and into the Lakewood Fire Department’s parking lot. The fundraiser featured a range of activities, including delectable food, door prizes, and basket raffles. Sadly, the guest of honor, Mr. Johnson, was unable to attend due to health constraints, but he expressed deep gratitude for the overwhelming love and support he received from his fellow community members.
The event offered a precious opportunity for local residents to come together, enjoy food, music, and games, and rekindle the sense of unity. It served as a poignant reminder that even in the face of adversity, the Lakewood community stands resolute and supportive of its own members.
